Dreamy Golden Light San Onofre Engagement

As my neighbors in South Oceanside, it only felt right to keep their shoot close to home—capturing the places and energy that make their story so personal and familiar.

We made our way up to San Onofre State Beach to catch the sunset. If you’ve ever been, you know it has this quiet, almost nostalgic energy—wide open stretches of sand, soft waves, and some of the best light in Southern California. It was the perfect backdrop to slow things down and capture those more intimate, in-between moments as the sun dipped low.

Sarah and Zach have such an easy, grounded connection—it’s calm, fun, and full of the kind of love that just fits. Photographing them in places that reflect their everyday life made the whole session feel even more meaningful, like a snapshot of this season before everything shifts into wedding mode.

Next stop: the Florida Keys, where they’ll be saying “I do” surrounded by ocean views and tropical air. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be the most beautiful, joy-filled celebration.
